NEW! Summer Term Offered NOW at Lee Academy

The launch of our Summer “X” Programme happens on Monday, June 25th!  We have planned a programme that allows for Full Time or Part Time registration. The new schedule of fees and registration form are available online as of the end of February. We hope your children will take part in the programme.  There are only spaces for those students entering Grade One or higher. Our “Cultural Connections” option for our Grade 6 to 8 students is an exchange trip to Quebec.  Students wishing to participate in the exchange to Quebec must register for all sessions of Summer “X”, June 25 to August 2nd.  They will study and prepare for their visit, travel to Quebec and live with families there, then return with a student to attend the last part of Summer “X” before their exchange partner returns home.  When we have the “Cultural Connections” exchange group confirmed, we will go ahead with an information night and registrations.  You may, in the meantime, fill out your registration so that we know what size group will be travelling.  What a great opportunity for our students!  Please register for Summer “X” separately from the re-registration for the September, 2012.  SURVIVAL camp registrations are available at the office or by request, as well as online.

Applications will be accepted based on availability (Lee Academy student applications are given preference) and the student’s regular school year record.

All programmes include outdoor education with canoeing, swimming, kayaking and hiking.

Option 1: “Academic Skill Building” [instruction of basic literacy and numeracy to consolidate academics in preparation for the upcoming school year]

Option 2: “The Arts” [instruction in music, drama, visual arts and design]

Option 3: “Athletics” [instruction in fitness, sports and cooperative outdoor games]

Option 4: “Languages” [instruction in 1-4 different languages depending on enrollment and interest]

Option 5: “Math & Science” [instruction in the world of mathematics and scientific investigation]

Option 6: “Cultural Connections” [instruction in a region of the world, its culture, its language and its history; programme has a trip to that region as an option for the students as part of an exchange or outreach trip; each summer offers a different focus]

**Options 1-5 are open to all grades. Option 6 is only available to students who have passed Grade 6, 7 or 8 in the June of the year of admission to the Summer Term.
